B.A. Photography is a three-year full time undergraduate programme of Semester Pattern with Credit System with specialization in one of the following subjects-

  • Advertising & Commercial Photography
  • Nature & Wildlife Photography
  • Photojournalism & Documentary Photography
  • Image Post Processing & Designing
  • Fine Art Photography
Academic Highlights
The program follows a syllabus prescribed by the UGC and offers 28 Core courses and 6 Generic Electives. The course includes 2 AECC compulsory modules of 2 credits each and 4 modules of 2 credits each which include MIT World Peace University modules. This program also includes 2 value added courses prescribed by UGC and MIT World Peace University.

The mission of the program is to prepare students for careers in the field of professional photography through a philosophy of learning by doing

The cross-platform philosophy combined with the experiential learning provided by professional photographers/ instructors provides a unique and innovative technical education that develops graduates with a creative style and unique visual problem-solving skills.

The course provides exhaustive knowledge and training in order to foster skilled professional photographers. This extensive course shall allow students to explore and embrace photography to its pinnacle.

Across six semester, students are immersed in all aspects of the study of Photography, representing a progression of knowledge that provides them with scholastically rigorous and creatively challenging courses.

In addition to the academic growth of students, the programme aims at their holistic development through the value-based education system of MIT World Peace University.

Our prescribed Six-Semester Photography curriculum serves to address the following core competencies
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency with lighting tools, digital camera systems, digital output systems and the video controls on DSLRs
  • Understanding of the characteristics of available and artificial light and applying this to images
  • Proficiency in the use of Lightroom as an organizational tool, Photoshop as a non-destructive editing tool and other image editing and designing softwares.
  • Applied understanding of the visual language and aesthetic theories of photography and incorporate these in creative work.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard, marketing and business practices.
  • Knowledge of the history of photography, aesthetics and technology.
  • Ability to produce photographic work that is consistent with high professional standards.
HANDS-ON TRAINING
The learning-by- doing principle has been advocated widely and in many forms.The three-year program is an intensive, hands-on program designed to train aspiring professional photographers in the art, craft, and business of contemporary image making. Encompassing state of the art digital technology, the moving image as a natural extension and 21st-century convergence of photographic and cinematic technologies and aesthetics, while being firmly grounded in the history and photochemical processes of the medium, students graduate with a comprehensive set of skills tailored towards making them fiercely competitive in todays saturated marketplace.

Eligibility And Requirements

  • Minimum 50% aggregate score in 10+2/Class 12th or in equivalent examination with English subject (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class category candidate belonging to Maharashtra State only). MIT WPU CET Interview (PI).
  • Any Basic DSLR camera with Kit Lens is mandatory.
